Starting Nov. 10, Golden Gate Canyon State Park will offer a limited number of permits available for cutting a Christmas tree in selected areas of the park on Dec. 5 and Dec. 6. The tree cutting permits will be available at the Golden Gate Canyon State Park Visitor Center, located at 92 Crawford Gulch Rd., 15 miles west of Golden. To reach the visitor center, take Highway 93 from Golden and turn west on Golden Gate Canyon Road.
Permits will be sold from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, while supplies last. Permits may also be purchased by phone, using a credit card for payment, by calling (303) 582-3707. Visitors must pick up their permits at the visitor center on the permit date and prior to cutting a tree. A detailed map with additional information will be provided with each permit.
The permit cost is $20 and permit holders are allowed one tree per permit. A valid park pass is required for each vehicle, either an annual park pass or a $6 daily pass purchased at the visitor center
